Louis Acerra (Luigi) owned an Italian bakery in Red Bank, but in 1939 he started making pizza and eventually switched his business to pizza full time. The unique pizza was an extra-large “squarish” pizza, crispy thin crust, well done, cheese and sauce right to the edge. The dough formula was handed down over the years to his children and grandchildren.
In 1988 Louis Acerra the great-nephew of Louis Acerra of Red Bank circa 1939 opened Ocean Counties first Luigi’s Famous Pizza continuing his Great Uncles tradition and recipes. Lou build a loyal customer following over the past 30 years and we are proud to continue in his family tradition.
